Excerpts from « A blend of abstract and figurative » by Roger Bouillot, 1992, Radio commentator and art writer.
…Overall, Denis Miau’s painting and lithographic work make for a highly interesting blend of the abstract and the figurative. His painting is dense and anchored to the essence of life, colored by a somewhat idealized vision of a paradise lost. His work has drawn the attention of eminent art historians, such as René Huyghe and Gaston Diehl. Denis Miau holds out the promise of beautiful talent, original and faithful to our time…
Denis Miau is listed in the Bénézit, Paris, Editions Gründ, 1999. (Critical dictionary and reference texts of painters, sculptors, drawing and etching artists of all times and from all countries).
